The Middle School Debate Program This site has a lot of information on debate in general. Of particular interest might be their video reources page, where you can watch debates online. Another useful feature on this site is their Guide to Better Ballot Writing, which provides examples of good and bad ballots written by judges

The National Forensic League hompage. This site provides a lot of background on speech and debate in general. The NFL (no, not THAT NFL) is the nation's oldest (founded in 1925) and largest speech and debate honor society

The Debate Central website provides students with free debate material such as links to relevant resources. There are tons more just google "high school debate" and you'll see! In particular, we think these are fun:

The Great DebatersThis is Denzel Washington's tribute to Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College Texas, who in 1935, inspired students to form the school's first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship
